[ Aching, and so, so tired of moving, it’s nothing short of a miracle that Aerith made it. There would be no way to rest until she went home, assuring herself that however crazy things might have gotten in the forest, Tifa and Zack are fine, and Lorcan’s been looking after the garden - though even he looks a little worse for wear, and bashfully avoids Aerith’s bleary gaze while shoving pieces of toast and glasses of lemon water at her as she staggers through the cottage checking on everything.
For what might be the first time since she arrived here, Aerith walks through the streets of Andovale and doesn’t feel the weighty gaze of the judgemental locals. Nobody cares that she’s still wearing the shift she had on in the forest because they all look like hell too - and she recognizes enough of them from among the chaos of the party to feel right about assuming that like her, they probably feel like hell as well.
As much as her head aches, she feels grateful that she’s not alone in that - she wants to disappear into Sanji’s room and not come out until she feels more like a human being (ha) again - and she doesn’t have it in her to climb through the window. Today, she feels okay about getting away with using the front door, today, everybody’s got a headache. ]

[ It’s wail, and it’s a croak and a whimper too - every weak and mournful tone her voice can have jumbling together when she drags herself inside, swinging the door closed behind her before calling his name.
Likening this feeling to being hit with a terrible cold, Aerith knows if she lets herself linger, she’s not going to be able to move again without effort, so she keeps right on plodding through the boat, familiar enough with the layout to find her way to his room with relative ease. ]
